Promotion is partly up to you.

A SermonDelivered on Wednesday Evening, July 16th 2025, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH,Live on MZ Radio London, London UK. Have you ever wondered why some people seem to rise to new heights while others remain in the same place? Is it just luck, or is there something more at work? The Bible teaches us that promotion ultimately comes from God. Yet, it also shows us that we have a vital part to play in God’s plan for our lives. Throughout the Bible, we see that those who were exalted were not merely lucky; they were faithful, diligent, and full of integrity in both small and great things. God opened the doors, but they walked through them with excellence. This means that while we trust in God’s timing, we must also take responsibility for our character, work ethic, and willingness to grow. By cultivating excellence, integrity, and faithfulness, we position ourselves to receive the advancement that God desires to bring into our lives. In today’s message titled “Promotion is partly up to you,” we’ll discover how faithfulness, excellence, and obedience position us for the opportunities God wants to bring our way. Be blessed as you listen! You may probably ask How can I be promoted? And the answer is promotion is partly up to you. “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.[7] But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (Psalms 75:6-7). Yes, promotion comes from God but God doesn’t “sovereignly” make some people leaders and others followers. God is the One who promotes, but there’s more to it than that. It’s about what’s inside you. It’s about your heart’s attitude. Promotion is partly up to you. Therefore, cooperate with God. The Word of God gives us great examples of godly promotion. The book of Daniel shows us how Daniel and his three Hebrew friends gained promotion in an evil, ungodly society. Though they arrived in Babylon as slaves, they grew in favour and influence with at least three different kings in two different world systems and became trusted advisors and rulers under each. Daniel, a Hebrew, became prime minister of Babylon and worked for at least three kings: Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, and Darius. How was this possible? How could Daniel and his friends experience so much favour under such adverse circumstances? Daniel 6:3 gives us the answer: “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him”. Daniel’s life and ministry covered the entire seventy years of the Babylonian captivity. Daniel, a captive from Israel, deported to Babylon at approximately age sixteen was preferred above rulers and princes! He and his three friends were promoted because they each had an excellent spirit. That’s awesome! The supernatural favour they had didn’t come from their external circumstances; it came from the inside. It was something intangible, something like attitude. My friend, promotion is partly up to you. Sadly, many Christians don’t believe God for anything. But heroes of faith like Daniel, Joseph, Moses, and David show us a different approach. They believed God for something more, and because of their attitude of faithfulness – their excellent spirits—they were promoted. Promotion is partly up to you. If we want to experience the results they had, we must start doing the things they did. We have to start aiming at something. Aiming at being promoted: The bible says the righteous will continue to shine and shine. Maybe the difference between the things you see in your heart and what is actually happening in the flesh is causing you to walk around in a constant state of conflict and tension. Even though you may feel like giving up, you must remain faithful. Stay faithful and God will promote you. Most people aren’t recognisng that God is their best way forward. He will promote you when nobody else will, and yet I meet people all the time and they say things like ‘but you don’t understand, it’s the colour of my skin or my lack of education or some people say it’s my gender, there’s discrimination against women and so on and so forth. They have all these reasons that they have put a ceiling, and they just say that I can’t prosper, and I can’t be promoted. Remember that your life is going in the direction of your dominant thoughts. The bible says, ‘As a man thinks in his heart so is he’. Therefore, think about what you’re thinking because promotion is partly up to you. I can guarantee you there is not a single person that had as many strikes against you as Daniel and his three friends had. Think about this, Daniel and his three friends were among the Israelites conquered by the Babylonians and taken into exile in Babylon. I tell you, the Babylonians when they came in and conquered Jerusalem, it was brutal. You can read about this in 2nd Kings chapter 25. Daniel and his three friends were captured and taken captive to Babylon and made eunuchs. The city was overrun, hundreds of thousands of people were brutally killed. It was terrible and although the scripture doesn’t detail it, it’s very possible that Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego saw their families killed in front of them. At least they saw multiple people killed. It was cruel the way that the Babylonians came in and just killed thousands and thousands of people. So, they saw their beloved city overrun. They saw possibly their friends, at least family and people killed and then they were taken to a foreign land where they had no power, they had no position, and they were castrated. They were made eunuchs. That was terrible, all the things that they went through, being put in this position. If anybody had anything going against them and reasons why they couldn’t be promoted, it would have been Daniel and his three friends. But these people continued to just trust and believe God and
The Ultimate Promoter

A SermonDelivered on Wednesday Evening, July 9th 2025, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH,Live on MZ Radio London, London UK. In a world where ambition is celebrated and self-promotion is the norm, we often find ourselves striving, pushing, and reaching for the next level – believing that our talents, connections, or hard work alone can take us to the top. The truth, however, is that while effort and excellence are important, they are not the ultimate deciding factors. Scripture makes it clear: true promotion comes from God alone. God is the one who opens doors, sets the stage, and lifts individuals according to His purpose and timing. Recognising Him as the ultimate promoter brings both humility and assurance, inviting us to trust in His wisdom rather than our own striving. True greatness is found not in self-promotion but in surrendering our ambitions to the One who lifts us up according to His purpose and glory. Join us in today’s message by Evangelist Paul Acquah titled, “The Ultimate Promoter” as we look to Scripture, reflect on our own journeys, and learn to trust the ultimate Promoter – God. Be blessed as you listen! Let me start by saying that most of the people that are listening would love to be promoted, Whether you are just working for somebody else, I’m sure you would like a promotion to a better position with better pay. Whether you have your own business you would like to see it expand and reach more people. If you’re in ministry, you would like to reach more people. Whatever it is, I think that there’s something inside of every single person that realises that we just need to be stretching and reaching for something. Everybody wants promotion, doing nothing is just not something that is bred into us. Everybody desires for something more and I think it’s a God-given desire. I’m sure God just built something into all of us that we want to excel, and to see promotion. The good news is God created you for greatness. No matter where in life you stand, God wants you to succeed. God wants you to be promoted in your finances, he wants you to prosper and be in health. However, many people see prosperity as an elusive thing. Many people point to education, talent, relationships, or privilege as the secret to their success. Though these can play a role, they are not what produce promotion. Some people think only those with the education and charisma get promoted, while others feel that employers promote people based on friendships or special connections. But the Bible says something completely different: “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.[7] But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another” (Psalms 75:6-7). This is saying that God is the one who promotes people. Promotion comes from God! One thing that hinders us receiving God’s blessing is the fact that many of us think that it’s our effort, or our talent, or our ability that promotes us. Yes, God can use talents and abilities, he’s the one that gives us the ability. If you can sing, if you can work with your hands, if you can draw, if you’ve got certain talents, God is the one who gave those things to us. God will use those things, but you’ve got to get beyond thinking that it’s your talent, or your ability that’s the source of your promotion. That’s a radical statement and I know that there’re many people that would disagree with that but there’s an abundance of scriptures that support this statement. For example, in 1 Corinthians chapter 1 it says “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[d] God chooses people who are not mainly those considered wise, powerful, or of high social standing in the world’s view. It highlights that God often chooses those whom the world might overlook or underestimate. God’s choices are not based on worldly criteria. Instead, He often chooses those who are considered weak, foolish, or insignificant by the world’s standards to confound the wise and demonstrate His power through them. The reason he did it that way is so that no flesh should glory in his presence. Those who are well-educated and successful by the world’s standards might feel that these passages mean they could never be used by God. That’s not the case. The Bible didn’t say that no wise people were called; he said that not many were called. You may have talents and ability but if you are trusting in them and trying to gain promotion just through your own effort then it’s not going to work. In Isaiah chapter 42:8, God was talking about his son Jesus, it was a prophecy about Jesus coming and he said that he would not give his glory to another. He would never share his glory with anybody but Jesus. So, if you are taking credit, if you are the one thinking that it’s because of your great ability, it’s your great talent that God is using you, and if that’s what you’re looking for a promotion to come from then I can guarantee you God is not going to promote that. Another scripture is First Peter chapter 5 where it says

Born to Overcome

A SermonDelivered on Wednesday Evening, July 2nd 2025, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH,Live on MZ Radio London, London UK. Life has a way of throwing challenges our way. There are moments of joy, but also seasons of struggle, uncertainty, and deep pain. We all face battles – some are visible to the world, while others are buried deep within. In those difficult times, we often find ourselves asking: How do I get through this? How can I truly overcome? The good news is that no matter what we face, God has already declared us victorious in Christ. Our status as overcomers isn’t based on our strength or achievements, but on what Jesus has already accomplished for us. So, take heart. Even when the battle feels fierce, the outcome is certain – because in Christ, we are more than conquerors. In today’s message titled “Born to Overcome,”Evangelist Paul Acquah invites us to walk boldly in the victory that is already ours in Christ. Let’s join in! God has given you something to help you to be an overcomer. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [f]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Jesus ended his teaching in John 14,15 and 16 by saying in this world you’re going to have some difficulties but L don’t want you to respond to these difficulties the way a person who doesn’t know me responds because I’ve given you something that helps you to be an overcomer. Jesus said in this world you’ll have tribulation but be of good cheer because I’ve overcome the world. You may say what has this got to do with me. If Jesus has overcome the world, what about me? Let me refer you to 1John chapter five and verses 4 and 5. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—[a]our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God”? So, He has given us faith to overcome. The NIV says it this way: This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is the one who has overcome the world, and believers can also overcome through their faith in Him. This text of scripture enables us to understand that Jesus’ victory over the world equips believers to live an overcoming life and experience victory in their own lives. Jesus, in his life, death, and resurrection, overcame the world’s challenges, and its systems. “Who is it that overcomes the world ” refers to anyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. This belief is foundational to overcoming the world and its challenges, and it is what is born of God, according to 1 John 5:4-5. Jesus himself stated that he has overcome the world, and this victory is available to those who believe in him. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [f]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. “This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. God asked a question, he says Who is it that overcomes the world? And then he gives us the answer, Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. So we’re hearing Jesus saying that he has overcome the world so we can be of good cheer. But then he tells us I made provision for you to be a world overcomer. The key to understanding those two verses is the last part of verse 4 where he says, “and this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith”. Through faith in Jesus, believers can access the victory that He has already secured. Everyone born of God overcomes the world, and this victory is achieved through faith. In other words, you must believe that you are what he says you are. You can say it out loud to yourself because it’s good for you to hear, because faith comes by hearing then hearing by the word of God. So, you can say this with me, “I’m an overcomer because I’m a believer”. We need to focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, rather than getting bogged down by the difficulties of the world. This focus enables us to walk in victory. We need to apply this victory in everyday life. Believers are not meant to just survive but to thrive, subdue, conquer, and prevail over life’s challenges. You may ask, why is it that everyone born of God overcomes the world? This is because there’s a transformative power of spiritual rebirth. Being “born of God” refers to a spiritual regeneration that occurs through faith in Jesus Christ. What in the world are we supposed to overcome? It’s the victory over worldly values and systems that are contrary to God’s will. When you wake up in the morning to when you go to sleep at night, the world is trying to conform you and to get you to believe the way it believes, see things the way it sees, respond to it with its own response mechanisms. The world wants you to go with the flow. It’s like unwritten rules and expectations about how people should behave, think, and feel within a specific group or culture. They guide behaviour, providing a sense of what is considered acceptable, appropriate, and normal. These norms are maintained through social approval and disapproval. The worldly system of doing things often conflicts with what the Bible teaches. The world’s beliefs and expectations are designed to influence behaviour in various situations. Worldly norms dictate what is considered typical, appropriate, and expected within society, shaping how people interact and behave. Adherence to norms often leads to social acceptance and rewards, while violations can result in social disapproval, sanctions, or even exclusion. Overcoming the world implies a victory over these pressures and
Created to overcome problems

A SermonDelivered on Wednesday Evening, June 25th 2025, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH,Live on MZ Radio London, London UK. God created us to overcome problems. Life is filled with challenges – moments that test our strength, faith, and resolve. But what if I told you that you were not created to be defeated by your problems, but to rise above them? This conviction is rooted in the words of Jesus, who not only acknowledged the reality of trouble in our lives but also promised victory and peace through Him. Jesus assures us that while difficulties are inevitable, we are not left powerless or alone. Instead, we are equipped by God’s design and through His presence to rise above adversity and become overcomers in a world filled with trials. In today’s message titled “Created to overcome problems,” Evangelist Paul Acquah uncovers how, by design, we are all equipped to transform struggles into strengths and adversity into victory. Get ready to rediscover the overcomer within you. Be blessed as you listen! I want to clarify what we mean by ” overcoming problems or difficulties” because if you’re hearing me and you’re saying, “well, I don’t have any difficulties or I don’t have any problems, so this message is not for me for sure”. No, it’s for you. You may think “well, I have everything in life, I have no problems to overcome, I have what it takes to live without problems, this message is not for me. No, it’s for you. Jesus warned us ahead of time that in this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” So how do you overcome your problems in life? How do you live as an overcomer? That’s what I want to talk about in this message. Now listen to what Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [f]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” He also said in John 14:27 that: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. This is a call to trust in Jesus and not be overcome by fear or anxiety no matter what situation you’re in or what comes against you. Going back to John 16 33 where he says these words I’ve spoken unto you that in me you might have peace. He’s just reassuring us that you can have peace if you understand that he’s taking care of your future. you can have peace if you know that he’s taking care of you every day of your life here on planet earth. If we begin to really meditate and get a revelation of the fact that we’re never alone, then we can have peace in the midst ofproblems. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” It doesn’t make any difference what you’re going through. Jesus, by the Holy Spirit is right there going through it with you. I want you to know he’ll never let you down. Best example that anyone ever gives when we’re talking about this subject is when Peter was walking on the water. As long ashis eyes were on Jesus, he was walking on the water but the minute he got his eyes on the circumstances he began to sink but Jesus didn’t let him sink. He reached down and picked him up. This is what Jesus is saying to us that don’t worry about your problems. Don’t worry about every day that you live in this life because you’re not going to do it by yourself, I’m going to be with you and if I’m with you, who can be against you. The Bible says it this way: If God be for us then who or what would dare be against us. He says be of good cheer I have overcome the world. God wants us to be an overcomer. This is why he created us to be overcomers. He started with Adam and Eve, telling them to have dominion. To be an overcomer means to subdue, to conquer, to prevail, to get the victory. That’s almost the same as dominion. Jesus said in John 14:16 and 26 that: “ And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever. But the [g]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you”. In other words, you can deal with the problems that come because you are not alone and you’re not having to do it in your own power because you have a helper, the Holy Spirit. The helper is with you and in you. “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Here’s the good news— He who is in you is greater than the problem coming against you. Therefore, we can overcome them! That ability comes through knowledge. I want to encourage you to hold onto God’s promises (2 Pet. 1:3–4) with all your heart and keep speaking to them over your life. God’s word is powerful, and you can use it to change any difficulty or obstacle you face. Jesus demonstrated this throughout his life and ministry on this earth. He stilled the wave. Jesus calmed a violent storm on the Sea of Galilee, demonstrating the power of his words. He was sleeping in a boat with his disciples, and a fierce storm arose, causing the boat to be tossed and waves to break over it and threatening to sink the vessel. The disciples were terrified, and in fear for their lives, woke Jesus, who was sleeping in the stern of the boat, and cried out for help. Jesus commanded the wind and waves to be still. He rebuked the wind and the
How to overcome life’s problems

A Sermon Delivered on Wednesday Evening, June 11th 2025, by Evangelist PAUL ACQUAH,Live on MZ Radio London, London UK. Have you ever faced a problem so overwhelming it seemed impossible to overcome? Maybe it was a crisis at work, a broken relationship, a health scare, or a season of deep discouragement. What if I told you that from the very beginning, God’s plan for humanity was never one of failure or despair, but of victory and dominion? While struggles are unavoidable, they are not unconquerable. So, how do you rise above life’s storms? How do you walk in unshakable victory? In today’s message titled “Overcoming life’s problems,”Evangelist Paul Acquah explores biblical principles that will empower you to face life’s problems with confidence, knowing that in Christ, victory is already yours. Be blessed as you listen! Jesus warned us that we would face difficulties in this world. There’s no way to escape them. We all face problems and so I want to start off by just making the statement that God intended from the very beginning in creation that you and I or mankind would live a life of victory. We would live a life of being able to stand above the problems and deal with difficulties as they came. God gave Adam and Eve dominion over everything that he’d created and as we study the scriptures, we see how sin entered in and messed up that plan, but it never changed God’s purpose. He created us to live an overcoming life and gave us the ability to do so. I want to talk about how-to live-in victory and that means, overcoming the difficulties that we’re going to face and the first thing I want to do is just define what it means to overcome. The definition of overcomer is to subdue, to conquer, to prevail, to get the victory. It’s very clear that’s more than just getting by. But so many Christians are satisfied just to get by. Jesus said to us in John chapter 16 and probably most of you are familiar with this verse. But do we really take it seriously for what Jesus said in John 16 verse 33? Jesus makes this statement, and he says These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [f]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” He says but, in the world, you shall have tribulation. That word tribulation means afflictions, distresses, difficulties, pressures, burdens, and problems. Jesus was preparing us for life in this world and he says in this world you’re going to have problems. Not many people have got that in their ‘promise box’. We don’t want to talk about that one, and because we haven’t talked about it, we’ve misled a lot of people with the thought that you’ll give your life to Jesusand everything will go on smoothly. But it’s really just the opposite and Jesus didn’t fool anybody and didn’t try to hide anything from them, so he just addressed them and said in this world you’re going to have these difficulties. But look how he said you and I as believers should respond to those problems, to those troubles, to the tribulation, the afflictions, the distress, the pressures, and the burdens. He says be of good cheer because I’ve overcome the world. Jesus said be of good cheer when problems come and yet do we find many Christians actually doing that. Let’s go back to the first part of this verse where Jesus says these things have I spoken unto you that in me you might have peace. What are those things that he spoke to us? All we have to do is go back to where he began this teaching in John chapter 14 and the first thing that he said to us was, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, [b]I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also (John 14: 1 – 3.). This is where Jesus began this series of teaching in John 14,15, and 16. They contain some of the most important teaching that Jesus did, and he did it just before he was to go to the cross. So, he was preparing the disciples for what was going to take place when he departed. He ended it up by saying these things have I spoken to you that in me you might have peace but in the world you’re going to have problems, you’re going to have tribulation, you’re going to have troubles but be of good cheer. Why did he say that in him we would have peace. He spoke words to us and the first words he spoke to us was let not your heart be troubled you believe in God believe also in me and then he talked about in my father’s house there are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. So the first thing he’s telling us that as long as we’re in this world we’re going to have difficulties but we can have peace by meditating on the fact that he said I’ve got your future taken care of. You don’t have to worry about the future. I’m preparing you a place that where I am there you may be also and he said you believe in God believe also in me. I’m telling you the truth I’ve got your future covered and he’s saying that you don’t have to worry about the future and yet all you must do is pick up a newspaper or magazine or turn on the radio or the TV and you hear so much talk about the future. I can tell you what the future holds for the believer. What does the future hold? Well, for us believers I can tell you what the future holds: a mansion, and streets of gold with foundations of precious stone so he’s saying think about your future, the one I’ve got for you is just out of this
