Keep On Speaking In Tongues Daily

A Sermon Delivered on Wednesday evening, October 14th, 2020, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH, Live on MZ Radio London, Uk In writing to the church at Corinth, the apostle Paul specifically encouraged the Christians to follow the practice of speaking in tongues in their private prayer lives, and he gave several reasons for it. You see, speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. And it is one of the most powerful tools that we have in our arsenal as believers to live out the abundant life. God has given each of us a supernatural means of edifying ourselves or building ourselves up spiritually. God has also given to us a supernatural means of communicating with Him and worshiping Him. Are you as a spirit filled believer taking full advantage of the gift of speaking in tongues? The purpose of this message is to help you to receive the blessings that can be yours through daily appropriating the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. Keep on speaking in Tongues. Continue speaking for the rest of your life. The apostle Paul, writing to the Ephesian church said in Eph. 6:18, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Then He said in verse 19 that, 19 pray for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. What’s the prayer for? That utterance may be given to me, said Paul, ‘that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel’. That’s the way to pray for ministers. That utterance will be given onto them and that they will speak under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. What does it mean to pray in the Spirit? That means pray in tongues. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Hallelujah! For whom? For all saints. You don’t know all saints to pray for them, so you have to do it in the spirit. And you don’t know all things. Get around people who believe like you do. People who believe in praying in tongues. Iron sharpens iron. They will strengthen and encourage you. The same spirit that lives in you gives you utterance in tongues. When you pray in tongues, you are not speaking to men, you are speaking to God, but you don’t understand what you are saying. People don’t understand that when you pray in tongues, you are releasing the hidden wisdom of God. There are a lot of people who just pray in tongues to prove that they have got the baptism of the Holy Spirit. There are others who spoke in tongues 10 years ago and have never spoken in tongues again. If that is you, then you are missing one of the greatest tools that God ever gave us for moving into the spiritual realm. When you pray in tongues, it’s absolutely foolishness to your mind and if you stay in the natural, just like a carnal person, then you will quit praying in tongues because you can’t do it carnally. But if you continue to pray in tongues, it makes you get over into faith, into the spirit realm. You will start thinking about spiritual things. It’s just like a can opener that will open up the life of God that is inside you and let the Spirit of God start flowing. You need, you really need the ability to speak in tongues. Friend, don’t let the devil deceive you. The devil will say you are wasting your time when you are praying in tongues. He will say if you didn’t understand what you prayed, then what good will it do for you? Now you need to tell him that the Bible says he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Remember that anything which is unbelief and doubt is of the devil. Tell the devil that you have been talking to God, and that you weren’t talking to yourself or anyone else. No one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. Whoever speaks in tongues speaks mysteries which is secrets. So, tell the devil that you have been speaking secrets to God. Halleluiah! He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself. Tell the devil that you have been edifying yourself. You have been building yourself up. He will shut up if you don’t give up. The apostle Paul said in 1 Cor. 14:15 that,“what’s the conclusion? I will pray in the Spirit, and I will pray with my understanding”. There are two kinds of prayer we are talking about here: I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with understanding. Speaking in tongues is not only the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy spirit, But it’s a continuous experience. In other words, keep on speaking, continue speaking for the rest of your life. Don’t stop, pray in the spirit frequently and consistently as part of your amour. The apostle Paul said I pray in tongues more than all of you. When you pray in the spirit, God gives you wisdom and understanding. Keep praying in tongues my friend. No matter what’s going on in the world; recession, family trouble, disease, believers have tools at their disposal that they can choose to change everything. Pray and God will answer you. Receive your directions from your father. Pray His words to receive the answers you need. Praying in tongues is a great tool God has given us. The world cannot help you. The world doesn’t have the Holy Spirit, but you and I do. The Bible says, stir up the gift which is in you. And a

Take full advantage of the gift of tongues

A Sermon Delivered on Wednesday evening, October 7th, 2020, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH, Live on MZ Radio London, UK Do you know that you can always pray effective prayers that are according to God’s will? Many have discounted the powerful gift of praying in tongues instead of desiring and relishing it. Through the tremendous God given gift of tongues, you allow the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in your life to quicken and enable you. You see, this powerful gift can cause you to tune into God’s leading, do the right thing at the right time and begin to walk in a greater measure of a spirit led life filled with God’s peace and wholeness. The purpose of this message is to help you discover the practical benefits of praying God’s prayer language and unlocking His wisdom in answer for every demand. In previous messages we’ve talked about desiring spiritual gifts. Today I want to encourage you to take full advantage of the gift of tongues. Speaking in tongues is an essential part of the believer’s prayer life. The Apostle Paul said, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than you all” (1 Cor. 14:18). In writing to the Church at Corinth, Paul specifically encouraged Christians to follow the practice of speaking with tongues in their private prayer lives. He said in 1 Cor. 14:2 that, “Anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit” (NIV). So, we know when we pray in tongues, we are not talking to men or people, we are talking to God. The same 1 Cor. 14:4 says, we edify ourselves. “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church”. The Greek word for edify is the same word that we use as charge. You charge your car battery, you charge your phone battery when it goes down or when it’s dead, recharging, resupplying energy. We are spiritually, and we build ourselves spiritually when we speak in tongues. Therefore, take full advantage of this gift. God has given each of us a supernatural means of edifying ourselves or building ourselves up spiritually. God has given to us a supernatural means of communicating with and worshiping Him. Are you as a Spirit-filled believer taking full advantage of the gift of tongues? You may answer that for yourself. “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful” (1 Cor. 14:14). So, what’s the Bible saying? If you pray in the Spirit, he says your spirit prays. And what happens then? When I’m praying in the Spirit, I’m not speaking to men, I’m not speaking to people, I’m speaking to God and my spirit is edified. It’s a supernatural language that your brain has never learned. We have the right to pray in tongues every day of our lives, anytime we want to. We are speaking to God; we are not speaking to men. We pray the mysteries of God. Though, we don’t have any idea what we are saying. It’s a powerful gift. If you speak in tongues, no one understands you, but God understands you. It’s unknown to you but it’s not unknown to God. Take note of that. You don’t speak to people but you talk directly to God! So, my friend, take full advantage of this gift which enables you to speak directly to God. In the Spirit, he speaks mysteries, that’s what the Bible is saying. Speaking in tongues is the same as praying in the spirit. “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful” (1 Cor. 14:14). So, when you speak to the father in tongues, you are praying in the spirit because your spirit prays. Verse 14 of 1 Cor. 14 in the Amplified Bible Classic reads this way, “My spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive.” Speaking in tongues isn’t mental edification; it is spiritual edification. The prayer is not all by my spirit and it’s not all by the Holy Spirit, it’s the Holy Spirit giving utterance to my spirit but I’m praying by my spirit or by my inner being. Anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. A supernatural means of communicating with God our father. What an incredible gift we must all take full advantage of. It’s almost amusing to hear people say, even ministers say nowadays that tongues is not for us today. That we can’t talk to God supernaturally. Isn’t that strange that they say speaking in tongues has been done away with. But the Bible says it has not been done away with. He has made this supernatural gift available to anyone who asks Him. Many people don’t ask because they don’t know the benefits of praying in tongues. Maybe they have been taught to reject this gift. But it’s a wonderful advantage for your spirit to cooperate with God in prayer without any unbelieve from your mind getting on the way. This is a supernatural prayer language available to every believer. And they can pray in this language any time they are ready to pray. What a marvellous gift. Thank God we can talk to Him this way. We can all choose to talk to God anytime this way. So, what then? What do we do then? Look at verse 15 of 1 Cor. 14, “What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding”. Apostle Paul Said, “I will pray with the spirit in tongues and with the understanding also”. And we by the act of our will, can pray in tongues any time, because Paul said, I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with

Seek the greatest gift in life

A Sermon Delivered on Wednesday evening, September 30th, 2020, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH, Live on MZ Radio London, UK For anyone who believes that the Bible is the true word of God, there could be no argument that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is God’s will for every believer. One of the biggest reasons why the body of Christ hasn’t made the greatest impact on our generation today is because of our failure to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Without a doubt, Jesus and the first apostles used the gifts of the Spirit along with their message, confirming that God was truly the one speaking through them. There are many gifts of the Holy Spirit that come with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Scripturally, however, speaking in tongues is the initial gift to manifest. The purpose of this message is not only to establish the validity of speaking in tongues, but from scripture, some of the little-known benefits that accompany this gift is shared. Seek God’s gifts with all your heart. God remains the greatest giver of every good and perfect gift throughout all eternity. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17). God’s ultimate and most precious gift to every one of us is His only begotten son – Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Jesus came to give us the gift of everlasting life. Jesus remains the greatest gift, from whom everyone can receive eternal life. This scripture shows us who God is and how deeply He loves us. Jesus is truly the Son of God and God the Son, who chose to die for the sin of the world as the Son of Man – so that whosoever believes on Him would not perish but have everlasting life. Praise His holy name. Make up your mind to receive the greatest gift, the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ today, if you have not already done so. And if you have received Christ, you must seek spiritual gifts. Most people don’t know what they have in the spirit and so they go through life anyhow, they embrace lack and inadequacy and they wouldn’t even try to get out of their situation, or circumstance. Take God at His word. The Bible says we must desire spiritual gifts. We need spiritual gifts to be able to live successful Christian lives. “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.”(1 Cor. 14:1–5) The baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit will revolutionize your life as a Christian. How will you deal with things without the power of the Holy Spirit? I ask you this question. You need His power to flow through you, and that will really be happening in your life if you have spiritual gifts. Some people confuse the gift of tongues and basically disagree. They say that you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit at salvation and that’s all there is. God’s word is the touchstone of truth, it cannot be broken. There are many today who twist Scriptures to agree with their own unsound and weak thinking. “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”(1 Cor. 2:14) By and large, people don’t believe in the gift of speaking in tongues and any of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They try to say that they have passed away and those gifts don’t operate today. But that’s not true. That’s not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience, and all the gifts in the Bible are still operating today. God’s Word cannot be set aside when it conflicts with people’s unsound thinking, and I pray that God will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him and the spiritual gifts He gives to mankind. Praise be to His Holy name. Speaking in tongues is one of the first things that happen when people receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I can give you many examples in the Bible, but I will urge you to go and study them on your own. There are many instances in the book of Acts where people who received the baptism of the Holy Spirit spoke in tongues (e.g., Acts 2, Acts 8, Acts 10, Acts 11, & Acts 19). As believers and ministers of God, we have every right to declare the truth and proclaim that spiritual gifts are still available today as they were in Biblical times. When you look at the instances in the Bible, it’s amazing to me that people today fight against this gift of speaking in tongues because the people who wrote the Bible spoke in tongues. It was prophesied that it will happen and yet there is a resistance against speaking in tongues. Majority of today’s unbelievers and even some believers in the church are offended when Christians say they have spiritual gifts and can operate in them. Speaking in tongues is an immediate manifestation that happens when a person receives that baptism of

The great exchange

A Sermon Delivered on Wednesday evening, August 19th, 2020, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH, Live on MZ Radio London, UK What you believe is very powerful. If you change what you believe, you change your life. It’s important to learn the truth about how God really sees you and why it’s vital you believe right about Jesus, and what He has accomplished for you. You will break free from destructive habits and overcome every challenge in life as you simply hear and believe the powerful truths shared about your righteous standing in Christ. The finished work of Jesus on the cross didn’t just secure you a place in heaven, it also delivered you from darkness to light and qualified you to enjoy God’s goodness. You see, an understanding of Jesus’ finished work makes all the difference in knowing God’s heart for you in any matter. The cross has made all the difference to why you don’t have to walk around sin conscious or be afraid of God’s judgement as a believer. This message unfolds gems of truths about your right standing in Christ today. The Christian life isn’t a changed life, but an exchanged life. People may say what does that mean? Change can mean exchange, but exchange doesn’t necessarily mean change. So, change has a much wider usage, while exchange means one set thing. When you change your clothes or change, you take some, or all of your clothes off and put-on different ones. For example, exchange is to give something to someone and receive something from that person: I might offer them my old car in part exchange for a new one. Or for example, the process of changing one currency for another: An occasion when you give or return something to someone, and they give you something else. God is asking every Christian to let Him live through us. The Christian life is not a changed life but an exchanged life. This can only be accomplished when the Holy Spirit is leading and empowering us. We no longer live for ourselves. The Bible says in 2 Cor. 5:15 that: “…and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” The apostle Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Gal. 2:20). Jesus came into this world in His physical body exactly as we did. He had to grow and learn. He became just like us so that we could become just like Him. So, the Bible says in 2 Cor. 5:21 that, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” This is the great exchange I want to talk to you about. He became like us so that He could bear all our iniquities and become a mercy high priest for us. Our sin debt has been paid. Not only that, but we have become the righteousness of God in Christ. This is the great exchange. He not only took away our sin but gave us His righteousness. We are now as clean and holy in our spirits as Jesus is. The Bible says in 1 John 4:17 that, “…as He is, so are we in this world.” God put His judgment for sin on Christ at the cross so you wouldn’t have to bear it. When you believe and receive the Lord, He places Jesus’ righteousness upon you. This is the Great Exchange I’m conveying to you: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich” (2 Cor. 8:9). He exchanged our position of alienation to a state of forgiveness and right relationship with God. Jesus was willing to switch places with us. He actually switched places with us, even though the trade was in no way beneficial to Him. Even though He possessed all the riches of heaven, Jesus chose to renounce His position of glory and became a man in order that we might enjoy a relationship with the Father. Jesus gave up everything He possessed in order to provide us with everything we were lacking. What a great exchange we have in Christ. Our relationship with God is based on an incredible exchange. Jesus took our sin and died on the cross and rose again for our justification. After His resurrection, He poured on us spiritual riches instead of the eternal destitution that we deserved. This indescribable exchange means that we can stand perfect and whole before God once we accept Jesus’ gift of life. When we believe in Jesus Christ, He freely offers us what we could never have hoped to earn in any way. Friend, it’s very important to know who you are in Christ. Like Jesus, grow in your wisdom and understanding of who you now are in Christ. How do you see yourself? Let’s look back at 2 Cor. 5:21, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” You see, not you making yourself righteous. He made us righteous, not us making ourselves righteous. If you have received Christ as your personal saviour, then you have been made righteous. But do you believe and accept what you have been made? You can only believe by renewing your mind. Why Do People Still Live in Sin? One of the reasons why people live in sin even after they received Christ is because they still see themselves as sinners. They aren’t seeing themselves as righteous. They could break free if they ever understood that through Jesus, they

Staying on fire for God

A Sermon Delivered on Wednesday evening, May 20th, 2020, byEvangelist PAUL ACQUAH, Live on MZ Radio London, UK Staying on Fire for God. The Bible is very clear about having an active pursuit of Jesus in keeping His fire burning inside of you. So many who start out on fire for God do not remain in the same fervency that they once had. You see, being on fire for God doesn’t come automatically. You have to intentionally work at it. Staying on fire for God and understanding the things of God are so important in the times we are living in. Peoples eternal destiny depends on God and us and how on fire for Jesus we are. We have one life, and we don’t have the luxury of wasting it. God has not called us to a trivial life. He has called us to a life of divine purpose and destiny. In this message: “Staying on fire for God,” I encourage you to fan into flame the fire of God in your life and be constantly zealous for the things of God. If you have to describe your life today, how would you describe it? Is your life a wonderful, exciting journey? Is it a continuous challenge? Or one not knowing what to accomplish? Is your life a painful disappointment? Well, you can describe your life in many different ways, but Jesus came to give us life and give us more abundantly. Abundant life is a life which is fulfilling, a life of contentment. Not a life without heartache and sorrows and troubles. But then, a life which even in the midst of troubles and difficulties, you can step ahead and beyond all that. A life that can surpass all of that. Halleluiah! And that’s the life that Jesus came to give to us. But sometimes we find ourselves dry and hollow and with lack of zeal for the things of God. Maybe you are stuck in life, you feel like a prisoner, and you are not getting anywhere. You don’t know what’s happening to your life, but you want to get back to where you used to be. You want to be on fire for God again. How do you keep the fire of the Holy spirit burning? How do you keep what God has done in your life fresh? If you have not trusted Christ as your saviour, you can receive Him and be on fire for Him. It’s really up to you. It’s not God who determines whether you continue or not. People talk about; have you got hungry? Have you lost your first love? Have you got dry? Sometimes people lose their desire to go on and as a result they become dry and empty. But then, the Bible says that there is a race of life for everybody. God has set a course or path for all of us and we are to run and win. How do we become dry and stay off track? There are many reasons for that. Usually because we are distracted by something, sometimes it’s someone or some influence of other people who are actually distracting us. That’s why the Bible says that: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law, he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.(Psalm 1:1-3) So be careful who you associate yourself with. We are to associate with the God kind. God wants us to associate ourselves with Him and with His people. So how do you become dry and lose your zeal for the things of God? Maybe it’s because the person gets busy in their business. The busier they become the less time they have for spiritual things. They find themselves in other interest in life. Sometimes it’s a particular pleasure that has attracted them. For example, Sport or some hobby or whatever it might be. But you see, it’s a drift in process, it doesn’t happen at once. A person doesn’t just decide I will stop praying, stop reading the Bible, stop giving, stop going to church, stop serving and do my own things. It’s a gradual process. Before you know, you become empty and I pray that, that will not happen to you. Their eyes begin to move in other directions. And they have many reasons to justify themselves. I love God and He loves me. They can even say, ‘you don’t have to go to church every Sunday’. What they don’t know is that they have been tricked by the devil. Little by little, Satan causes them to drift. And if somebody doesn’t get their attention, before long, they have become so dry and have lost their zeal for the things of God. So, another question is how do you stay on fire for God? How do you get back on the route to fulfil God’s purposes for your life? The first thing you’ve got to do is to acknowledge that you have become dry and losing or have lost the fire. The Bible is not as important as it used to be to you. You are not excited about God’s word. You are not excited about Godly music. You find yourself more excited by things that are not related to the spiritual. Then you know that obviously things are not happening the way they should be and that something has got to be done. And when that happens, people will say; have you lost your first love? They keep talking about all these. They want a new outpouring and a fresh touch. They even say; oh God come and revive us. There are partial
