A Sermon

Have you ever felt like you are waiting on God to show up, to answer, to provide, to change something in your life? Many people live in that space, hoping, asking, and holding on for a breakthrough. But what if the answer is not in waiting, but in stepping forward? God’s provision is already complete. Through Jesus, everything you need for life has been made available. Nothing is missing. The question is, will you believe it? And will you act on it? Faith is not just what you say. It is what you do because of what you believe. When you truly trust that God has provided, your mindset shifts. Your words change. Your actions follow. You stop living as though you lack, and you begin to live as someone who has already received. In today’s message titled “Believe and act on God’s provision,” Evangelist Paul Acquah challenges you to move from asking to acting, from doubting to being confident, and from waiting to walking in God’s provision. You need to understand that God has already provided for all needs (healing, finance, relationships etc) through grace, and faith is the active step of receiving that provision. God created the supply before the need arose. Faith does not convince God to provide; it receives what He has already provided. Active faith involves acknowledging God’s grace and acting on it to see positive outcomes. God has already anticipated our needs, and before you can ever have a need, before you ever got sick, God has already put healing power on the inside of you. If you ever have something discouraging happened, God has already given you what needs to counteract it. You can encourage yourself in the Lord. The word of God says I can do all things through Christ, and that isn’t just referring to one thing. That’s everything in the Christian’s life. Did you know that you ought not to fear anything? I don’t care if somebody dies. I don’t care if you get sick. I don’t care if divorce is on the horizon. I don’t care if bankruptcy is on the horizon, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
What God did for us was he provided for us. He provided the Holy Spirit and his power. He’s given us power of the name of Jesus, the power of the spirit of God that lives in us, the greater one. He provided the new covenant, the better promises, the blood of Jesus, the armour of God, the authority of Christ, the keys of the kingdom. We are well provided for. Grace has provided everything that we need. So God is not in the business of taking from us. It’s the devil that comes to steal, kill and destroy. God doesn’t need to take from us because his gifts are irrevocable. “The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29). That means God never withdraws His grace, spiritual gifts, or divine purpose from an individual, regardless of mistakes or failures. God does not change His mind about his gifts or calling. His blessings and promise for a person’s life remain, even if they have not been fully used or if a person has stumbled. The calling on a person’s life is permanent and secure. The gifts are final and unchangeable by God.
God does not take back what He has given; His gifts are not based on our performance. Because these gifts are lasting, we are accountable for using our God given gifts to our full capacity. He knows what we’re made of. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Praise God. He has equipped us to overcome ( John 16:33). That’s why we’re called more than conquerors. Amen. Who has overcome the world? The bible asks this question and answers it for us. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—[a]our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (1 John 5:4-5) And so, we have been equipped to overcome (1 John 4:4) . So, anything that comes against you that has the identity of stealing, killing, and destroying is not from God. You can resist it with all the weapons that I just mentioned. Just believe and act on God’s provision. Continue in God’s word and know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
We’ve been set free from what? God commanded Moses to deliver a special message to Pharoah: “Let my people go, that they may serve me” is a command from God delivered by Moses to Pharaoh in the Book of Exodus (e.g., Exodus 8:1, 9:1), demanding the liberation of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery. The purpose of this freedom was to worship and serve God, Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me (Exodus 8:1). We are set apart for his purpose, for his use. What are we set apart from? Well, first of all, from sin, darkness, corruption, but we’re set also apart from sickness. We’re set apart from lack. We’re set apart from fear. We’re set apart from anxiety and depression. We’re set apart from all of the corruption that is in the world through lust. That’s in second Peter 1 verse 4. We’ve been set free from all the garbage in the world, and all the darkness. Walking in health, walking in peace, walking in joy, walking in victory. that’s being set apart for God’s use. You’ll be far more useful or far more of a representative of the kingdom if you’re walking in that set apart state. So, my friend, just believe and act on God’s provision.
Everything was taken to the cross. Every disease, every malady, every human condition, spirit, soul, and body, everything went on the cross. Jesus became a curse for us. He became sin for us. He took it all on the cross. So, nothing has been left off. It’s not a matter of God’s will. It’s not a matter of what he may or may not do. Is He willing? That’s not the question. The question is, can we believe him? It all boils down to that. Have you spent time with him to trust him, to have his promises quickened to you, and to receive them and to have the peace that allows faith to receive? That’s where your faith is going to come from. It’s not about God’s will. Yes, every human malady went to the cross with Jesus. By his stripes, we were healed. Amen. Christians do not need to ask God to do what He has already done; they need to believe and act on that provision. He said resist the devil and he will flee, He said speak to your mountain and it will be moved.
He has given us authority: Healing and deliverance are accomplished facts, and believers have the authority to overcome sickness rather than petitioning for it. He has given us authority to resist: We need to use our authority in Christ to resist the devil and his works, such as sickness, lack, and confusion. We need to exercise our authority to bring Heaven’s provision into earthly situations, particularly in prayer. Listen to what Jesus is telling you and me recorded in Mathew 18:18: “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[e] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[f] loosed in heaven. He has filled us with faith. He has filled us with vision and we by words can bring to nothing the things that seem immovable or impossible. We can bring from the world of the invisible the will of God into the visible world and we can see that which is not the will of God and we can speak to that and bring that to nothing. We have been endued with so much potential by the grace of God. As born-again believers, we have God living in us and death and life are in the power of our tongue.
We have the spirit of faith. So, it’s a shame that so many believers are so passive and so afraid to do anything when we have been given so much authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt us. Jesus said For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:23-24). So, we have this authority. We have this power available. But too few of us are using it. Our victory in lifedepends on transforming the mind with God’s word, rather than conforming to the world’s limitations. This involves shifting from a “victim” mentality to a “victor” mindset, to possess the blessings God has already promised. Just Believe and act on God’s provision.
