Paul Acquah

A Sermon
Delivered on Wednesday Evening, December 11th, 2025, by
Evangelist PAUL ACQUAH,
Live on MZ Radio London, London UK.

From the very beginning of creation, God has been a God who speaks. His voice called light out of darkness, shaped the heavens and the earth, and breathed life into humanity. Throughout Scripture, we see Him whispering to hearts, guiding His people, giving wisdom, direction, and hope. And today – right now – that same God still desires to speak. Maybe you’ve wondered if God has something to say to you. Maybe life has felt noisy, crowded, or confusing. Perhaps you’ve questioned whether God still speaks, or if He hears you at all. But hear this: God is nearer than you think… and He is speaking. Today’s message by Evangelist Paul Acquah is a reminder and an invitation. God wants to speak to you! Will you make room to listen? Be blessed as you listen!

Some of the most exciting news that you’ve ever heard is that God wants to speak to you and you can hear His voice. If you have been struggling and thinking that maybe God is  not speaking to you or that he doesn’t speak, I encourage you start to have vibrant relationship with him with expectation because he wants to speak to you.   In order to hear God’s voice you must believe that God actually speaks to people and that God wants to speak to you. Brothers and sisters, if you don’t believe God speaks to people and he wants to speak to you then you will find it difficult to hear from God. A lot of people don’t believe that God wants to speak to them. They think it’s a strange thing or an abnormal thing to hear someone say that the Lord said this to me or I heard from the Lord.  They think that’s strange, or that’s abnormal. And there ‘re others who believe God speaks to people, they just don’t believe that he speaks to them. Let me tell you that it’s biblical that we hear God’s voice.  We find over the pages of the Bible that God wants to speak to us and that God talks to people and people can hear his voice.

You must be looking forward to experience this in your life if you haven’t already been hearing God on a regular basis. Let’s go to the Word of God and find out if God actually speaks to people and if he wants to speak to you.  In Genesis chapter 1 verses 27 and 28 ,  after God created  Adam in his own image the first thing he did was talked to him and  that reveals to us that it was God’s plan and desire from the very beginning to talk to his people.

In Genesis 1:27 it said that “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. In verse 28 it says 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

So, the God that we serve is a God who speaks to his people and you’ll see this all throughout scripture.

In Genesis chapter 4 it said that the Lord said unto Cain.

In Genesis chapter 7 it said the Lord said unto Noah.

In Genesis chapter 12 it said the Lord said unto Abram.

In Genesis 26 it said the Lord appeared unto Isaac and said unto him.

In Genesis 31 it said the Lord said unto Jacob.

In Exodus chapter 6 it said God spoke to Moses.

In Joshua 1:1 it said the Lord spoke unto Joshua.

So, the God that we serve is a God who talks to his people.

Then you see it in the New Testament:  Jesus said this about the Holy Spirit.  He said, “For he will not speak of himself but whatsoever he hears that will he speak”,

The Holy Spirit speaks.

In Acts 8: 29 it said the spirit said to Philip.

In Acts 10: 19 it said the spirit said unto Peter.

Jesus said the Holy Spirit is supposed to be speaking to us and we’re supposed to be hearing his voice.  In John 10:27 Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice”.  So, friend the God we serve is a God who talks to his people.  The Holy Spirit speaks, God wants to talk to us, and we can hear his voice. This is exciting, isn’t it? In fact, as you are listening to this broadcast, I want you to say this with me.  “God wants to speak to me, and I can hear his voice”.  Say it again, “God wants to speak to me, and I can hear his voice”.   One more time, “God wants to speak to me, and I can hear his voice”.

God has not changed. In Malachi 3:6 he said, “I am the Lord, and I changed not”.                 In Hebrews 13:8 it said, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever “.  But a lot of people like to pretend.  They may say “Yeah God used to speak to people in Bible times, but he doesn’t do that anymore”.  No friend, God hasn’t changed.  The same God who was talking to his people then is the same God who wants to talk to his people now. It’s a marvellous thought to know that God wants to speak to me.  In Psalm 50 verse 7 the Lord said, ‘Hear O my people and I will speak’, God wants to talk to you, and he wants you to hear his voice. This is exciting news, isn’t it?

To hear God’s voice, you need to make time for him. God wants to speak to you, if you’ll give Him the time. Just as Samuel said, Master speak your servant is listening, God desires to speak to you. He will make it so crystal clear, if you’ll give Him the time. God is speaking and if you are His sheep, and you aren’t hearing and wondering ‘why can’t I hear God’, it’s because it is being drowned out by something. It could be your own thoughts. Most of the time we let the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things come in and choke the Word. Do you want to hear his voice?  Start from the Word of God. If you ask anything according to His will, He hears you and He answers your prayer.

1John 5:14-15 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him”. The problem is not with God. If you will get time for him, and just shut off everything, go on a fast, which is more than doing without food. It’s fasting from things that occupy you. Turn off all the things and put yourself in focus to the presence of the Lord, worship Him, and you’ll hear from God. Let me say it again, God desires to speak to you. He will make it so crystal clear, if you’ll give Him the time. He wants us to make listening to him, our top priority. The truth is all of us have priorities in our lives. We all have priorities in different areas of our lives. If you should ask people what is your number one priority, you’d probably get lots of answers. But it’s very clear in the bible, from Jesus’s perspective, what must be  the number one priority in our lives.

Luke 10:38-42 tells us of Jesus’s visit to Mary and Martha’s home. Martha chose to busy herself with serving, and she resented her sister for choosing to sit and listen at Jesus’s feet. When she complained to Jesus, He corrected her and told her that Mary had chosen well. Martha was not wrong in serving Jesus—other women ministered to Jesus in this way without being corrected. Serving was a good thing, but Martha’s motivation was misguided. It was a great honour to have Jesus in her home and to hear His personal words for them. Mary saw this and was eager to hear His words, while Martha was more concerned with busying herself to serve Him. Just like Martha, many people today are preoccupied with making themselves busy in service, but what Jesus wants is for them to sit at His feet and listen to His words. It is easy to recognise and turn from things that are obviously sin, but even good things that we are involved in must be prioritised so that nothing takes the place of knowing Jesus, listening to him, and seeking first the Kingdom of God!

God wants to speak to you so make time for him. He wants to direct your paths, he wants to tell you things to come, he wants to show you the enemy’s plan. Isn’t it exciting that the Lord who created the heavens and the earth wants to speak to you, so make time for him.
